My name is Helga Johannessen, I'm from Norway and coordinate a website on school bullying for parents called AFAM (Anonyme Foreldre Av Mobbeofre).

I have participated in three of the online conferences of the VISIONARIES-NET project. In all three of these conferences we have spent a lot of time on finding a definition on bullying/mobbing, without success. I believe this is because the word bullying/mobbing is a word without meaning, substance. What is bullying/mobbing?

I want to collect definitions on bullying from people in different countries and cultures around the planet, from different groups...

'Happy slapping' on rise in Europe ...?

In recent months there has been an increasing number of media reports on 'happy slapping'. According to World Wide Words 'happy slapping' is a violent craze in which an individual or gang humiliates or assaults a victim while an accomplice films it on a mobile phone. The pictures are then circulated to friends for their entertainment (other definitions can be found at Wikipedia or the Urban Dictionnary).
